November Ipsy Bag 2015

Ipsy is a monthly subscription makeup bag, created by Michelle Phan, that varies and caters to your  beauty, skincare, hair and even your nail needs.
This month's Ipsy Bag is a cute galaxy themed bag! It came with 5 decently sample sized items, a liquid highlighter, a mattifying emulsion, liquid eyeliner, a fluffy crease eyeshadow brush, and a smash box full exposure mascara.

Jelly Pong Pong

Liquid Gossamer

What it claims to be:
"A lightweight, water-based luminizer that gives skin instant radiance while keeping it moisturized at the same time. Formulated with ultra-fine, light refracting coated mica pigments in a sheer, soft cream that gives your skin an ethereal, youth-looking glow."
  • 78% Natural
  • No Parabens
  • No Animal By-Products
  • .27 oz
Ingredients: Water, glycerin, silica, talc, polyacrlic acid, triethanolamine, phenoxyethanol, fragrance, mica, titanium dioxide, iron oxide

Inside the tube

No Flash (Natural Light)

Thoughts:
Overall, this product is great. Not only does it smell like coconuts, but it also gives a beautiful bronze glow. The mica (glitter) is not chunky and leaves a nice sheer radiance (depending on the amount you apply onto your skin, but a little goes a long way). Once blended into the skin, it does not budge or smudge and in my opinion is waterproof. It took me a while to just wash off the product. I would definitely purchase the full-size product (plus it is cruelty-free!)

Figs and Rouge

Mattifying Emulsion and Pore Refiner

What it claims to be:
"Figs & Rouge Mattifying Emulsion & Pore refiner provides sheer matte coverage for daily shine control. Developed with a clinically proven formula, it helps diminish blemishes & outbreaks with regular daily use."
  • Refines & Minimizes pores
  • Controls shine in an instant
  • Creates a luxurious 'velvety touch' effect
  • Clinically proven ingredients that help's control breakouts & supports clearer complexion
  • .05 oz
Ingredients: aqua, zea mays (corn) flower, xanthan gum, phenoxyethanol, parfum, chlorphenesin, alcohol dent, benzyl salicylate, amyl cinnamal, hydroxycitronellal, linalool, plantago lanceolata (english plantain) leaf extract, sodium salicylate, mahonia aquifolium (oregon grape) root extract

Thoughts:
I haven't used this product enough to review, but it is a gel-like consistency and leaves a little sticky feeling onto the skin. So far I like it. I apply this after I have put lotion onto my face, then my primer and foundation. I will be updating this item once I incorporate it more into my makeup routine.

Absolute New York

 Nano Liner

What it claims to be:
"This ultra-fine liner features a super slim, tapered felt tip that allows for pin point precision. Experience unprecedented versatility – from subtle definition to the boldest of black."
  • Water-resistant, fade-resistant, smudge-resistant
  • Paraben-free, fragrance-free
  • .03 oz
Ingredients: aqua, acrylates copolymer, propylene glycol, triethanolamine, pvp, veegum, polysorbate 60, sorbitan stearate, methylisothiazolinone, iodopropynyl, butylcarbamate

Fine Felt Tip
(Left-right) Light Pressure, Medium Pressure, Heavy Pressure
Thoughts:
I would say its pretty good, especially for the price (about $5.00) compared to my Stila Liquid Eyeliner ($22.00). The fine felt tip leaves precision lines and is really black. One thing I do not like is that it is somewhat glossy (but I can't complain because it is very affordable!) It is very waterproof and stays on all day. This eyeliner has temporarily replaced my dried up Stila Liquid Eyeliner :)

Crown Brush

Deluxe Pointed Crease Brush

What is claims to be:
"This handcrafted professional pointed crease brush is perfectly tapered to give you optimum coverage and color in the crease"
  • The fluffy tip works well for blending multiple colors
  • Perfect for layering color or creating a smokey eye

Thoughts:
The brush is really fluffy and perfect for blending eyeshadows, great for transition shades and smoking out colors. I use it often.

Smash Box
Full Exposure Mascara

What it claims to be:
"Inspired by the on-set technique of layering a lengthening fiber mascara over a volumizing formula, this new studio-tested mascara exposes your longest, fullest lashes. No clumps, no flakes. Just maximum-impact, scene-stealing lashes."
  • 104% increase in lash volume
  • 32% increase in lash length
  • 34-degree increase in lash curl
  • 3 ml
Ingredients: WATER , STEARIC ACID , COPERNICIA CERIFERA (CARNAUBA) WAX , POLYISOBUTENE , POLYVINYL ACETATE , GLYCERYL STEARATE , PARAFFIN , SILICA , AMINOMETHYL PROPANEDIOL , POLYESTER-5 , ISOSTEARIC ACID , PVP , HYDROGENATED OLIVE OIL , OLEA EUROPAEA (OLIVE) FRUIT OIL , OLEA EUROPAEA (OLIVE) OIL UNSAPONIFIABLES , CHOLESTEROL , PANTHENOL , PANTETHINE , KAOLIN , NYLON-6 , LAURETH-4 , HYDROXYETHYLCELLULOSE , VP/EICOSENE COPOLYMER , SIMETHICONE , SODIUM POLYACRYLATE , PTFE , CAPRYLYL GLYCOL , HEXYLENE GLYCOL , PENTAERYTHRITYL TETRA-DI-T-BUTYL HYDROXYHYDROCINNAMATE , POLYAMINOPROPYL BIGUANIDE , CHLORPHENESIN , PHENOXYETHANOL , [+/- MICA , TITANIUM DIOXIDE , IRON OXIDES  , BISMUTH OXYCHLORIDE  , BLACK 2  , BLUE 1 LAKE  , CARMINE  , CHROMIUM HYDROXIDE GREEN  , CHROMIUM OXIDE GREENS , FERRIC AMMONIUM FERROCYANIDE, FERRIC FERROCYANIDE  , MANGANESE VIOLET  , ULTRAMARINES , YELLOW 5 LAKE

Mascara Bristles are spaced out and spiral out along the wand
Thoughts:
I haven't used the mascara as often as my other mascara's, but I can say it is long lasting and does not clump or make my lashes stick together. This mascara did not flake off through out the day and makes my lashes look long and full. The only down-side to the product is the amount of ingredients used to make it.

Food Series #1

WELCOME TO ELMHURST, QUEENS, NYC:

SUGAR CLUB

Sugar Club

Recently, a friend and I have stumbled upon a cute little store in Elmhurst, Queens called the Sugar Club. We looked up reviews for the store and saw that it had 3 1/2 stars out of 5. The pictures of the food looked delicious so we decided to have brunch there.

The set up of the store was a little confusing since it was a cafe/grocery store. One half of the store was set up with cute Ikea looking tables and stools and the other half had Thai snacks, desserts, and already-prepared take out food in the refrigeration section. There were two workers there who were very friendly and helped us with ordering food.

The menu is located in front of the counter in the center of the store, is a small booklet with greatly detailed pictures of the food and drinks. We ordered a drink called the Wicked Mojito (and sadly there was no alcohol in the drink, but it was so pretty!), a small meal (that I had forgotten the name of), that had eggs and some meat, as well as the famous dessert Honey Town!

Wicked Mojito was a unique beverage. When the waitress served us our drink it was a pretty blue-purple hue, topped with mint  leaves. Once it was mixed it became a light pastel magenta color. It was a refreshing light citrus drink.

Next, was the light meal (that I had forgotten the name of) which was a sunny side up egg, ground beef, pork and cilantro served on a cute miniature pan, with a side of crust-less toasted bread all on a wooden cutting board. The waiter had given us a little basket with some Asian spices, that we sprinkled onto the food. This had satisfied our hunger and is given a good thumbs up :)

Lastly, we had the difficulty of choosing a dessert out of all the delicious looking dishes called Honey Town. It consisted of cut up blocks of toast strategically placed like the Jenga Game (lol), topped with vanilla ice cream (originally it was green tea ice cream), red bean and a wafer drizzled in chocolate syrup with whip cream on the side. The fruit was thinly sliced and some were even decorated as flowers!

Overall, the food really was a 3 1/2 out of 5 stars. It was good, but you really are paying for the art. I was impressed from the amount of effort that was put into the food and the fact that it is all freshly made (the food was also reasonably priced)! I would totally come back and recommend this place to others! Next time I'm definitely getting their banana desserts and oddly flavored (Thai) Lay's chips!

Fashion Week

Fashion Week is sadly over. But, I had a blast. One of the best things about living in NYC is Fashion Week. There is just something in the air once Fashion Week rolls around. This year my cousin and I were able to meet a few bloggers/youtubers and even spot a few celebs.
Double Take!

Selfie with Claire

First stop was Union Square where Claire Marshall was having a meet and greet by Sephora. If you live in NYC you know trains are retarded on the weekends.  So, me and my cousin were definitely rushing to meet her. But, we made it in time and the wait to see Claire was not too long. In less than 30 min we got to hug and take pics with Claire. She's so pretty and sweet!

After that we decided to head over to Lincoln Center. The center of Fashion Week!
The Mecca of Fashion

Once we reached there we were just in awe of all the fashion and the beauty of it all. I knew some of my favorite bloggers/youtbers were here so I was keeping an eye out for them. I was lucky enough to spot roxylimon! Shes's so gorgeous and again super sweet.

with roxylimon!

After that cool encounter me and my cousin decided to stop by the Zappos Booth. There we were able to charge our phones and get our hair braided. I chose to get the crown braid. Second year in a row going there and getting the same exact style. They also touched up our lips.

The final product. I loved it!

Obligatory Fashion Week Pose
Later that night we bumped into Wendy! It was really by accident. Thank you to my cousin Dianna for spotting her. Thank you mystery man for taking our awesome pics! Again she was super sweet. I know how to wear a scarf 25 ways because of her!
With Wendy!
My last celeb sighting of the night is with Peyton List. OMG she is so tall but so very sweet to take a selfie with me.

Until next Fashion Week! My cousins blog about Fashion Week will be up soon!
