Sprout Vox Box

Another gift from influenster came in the mail awhile ago. Apologies again for the late post. But, this time I want to share what I received in my Sprout Vox Box from Influenster. This box was definitely a box that I was glad to have received because I doubt I would have picked up any of these items on my own. This box contained a whole bunch of goodies that definitely caters to a better life style. So, in other words def a healthy box.

If you haven't heard about influenster, it's a site where you can read and post reviews on products you liked or disliked. You can fill out surveys and if chosen you get to try out some of the products they send you for FREE before they even hit stores. Click the link below to JOIN.

The first item that we tried were the EatSmart Three Bean Tortilla Chips ((made with pinto, navy, and black beans wit 14 grams of whole grain and is gluten free made with non-GMO ingredients which is great). My cousins were over so we devoured that bag in less than 10 minutes. Even though it was a new flavor, it tasted like something we had already tried but just couldn’t wrap our mind on what it was. It def is spicy so if you are not into that, I don't think you would like it. The chip alone was good, but we like chips with dip. So, we tried it salsa and then we tried it with McDonalds Sweet and Sour sauce. The sweet and sour sauce won that round. If you see it in store, def try it the sweet and sour sauce.

The second item in the box was from Hair Food Moisture Collection. I had never seen this brand so when I saw it I was really intrigued by it and the sample size was a decent size. I don't have such long hair so this lasted for 2 showers. This shampoo and conditioner is infused with honey and apricot fragrances. It’s silicone free, paraben free, and mineral oil free. This product was actually made in Thailand, I’m surprised it wasn’t China or USA. After just one use my hair is extremely super soft and smells wonderful. My hair smelled amazing!!! I use different kinds of shampoos and conditioners and this left my hair feeling really soft and silky. I def would purchase this.
With the healthy life style theme, the third product I decided to try was the Orgain Organic Protein Powder in Vanilla Bean (plant-based protein powder). I don't normally drink any protein drinks when I work out, just plain old H20. But because I had the sample, I decided to try it out. The taste was surprisingly good. Not, sure if I want to purchase this since I don't normally drink protein shakes to begin with. But, if you are someone that does, I say go out and buy it so you can judge for yourself.
The next item that we tried was the ECOS hypoallergenic Laundry Detergent. I've never heard of this brand either. If you like floral scents, you will def enjoy using this. It left my clothes feeling clean and refreshed. No one in my household has sensitive skin, so I don't know if I will purchase this. But, for those that do, this would be a great alternative.

The last item in my box was the Curate Bar: Dark and Tempting Flavor. I don't normally eat healthy stuff like this, so I passed this along to my mother. She's a big health nut so I thought this was gonna be perfect for her. She tried it and said it was just ok. Nothing too special. So, I don't think I will be purchasing this.

Overall the box was a good way to try new brands. As mentioned, I have never heard of these brands so I would have never tried to pick these up on my own. Great way to experience new things.

Disclosure : I received these products complimentary for testing purposes by influenster. All opinions are of my own.

Have you tried influenster yet? What are some of your favorite healthy products?

Apologies for being MIA...

OMG! Sorry we have been MIA. Real life just got in the way. Work, school, friends and family all took over and we had to put a halt on the blog. But, now that summer is right around the corner we are hoping to keep up with the blogs. Apologies again to everyone.

I can’t believe it’s already June. The year is almost half way done. It feels just like yesterday I was writing a post and commenting on other people’s blog about new year. Time is definitely flying by. I hope everyone has been doing well and with summer right around the corner, I hope you all have awesome summer plans coming up.

So, what have I been doing for the past few weeks…I don’t know if you all remembered, but one of my friends recently got married and I was her bridesmaids. So, that was a crazy few weeks, but the wedding turned out to be amazing. We also went to Cancun for her bachelorette party so that was really exciting and fun. I will def be making a travel series on Cancun but in the meantime below are a few pics from Cancun.

Liebster Award

Hope everyone has been having a great week so far. Sorry for the lack of posts. We've all been really busy with school and work. But, I'm so excited that tomorrow is finally Friday. I need the weekend to come like now. LOL.

As you can tell from the title I got nominated for the Liebster Award by Andrea Tiffany! Thank you so much. Everyone please go and comment on her blog and tell her we sent you over. She posts a lot of great content.

What exactly is the Liebster Award, you ask? Basically, this is a fun little tag/award kind of thing where bloggers nominate other bloggers to answer questions. The questions can be as random as they come. It's just a way to find new blogs, and to get to know new people.

So the rules for this tag award thing is basically to:

Thank the person who nominated you and link back to them
Answer the 11 questions they posed for you
Nominate 11 new bloggers
Create 11 new questions for them to answer
Let them know you nominated them

1. Name the one food you cannot live without and HAVE to eat every week
Hmm...This is a tough one. I don't really have a food that I cannot live without and eat every week. I'm really trying to think but, I really do not have one. If anything its a drink that I cannot live without and that's everyday. Please go to question 2 to see what it is.

2. Are you more of a coffee or tea person?
I am definitely a coffee person. Without it in the morning, I am literally like a walking zombie. I start to crash at like 3pm at work. Thank goodness for Starbucks, Dunkin Donuts and Kureigs. LOL. I only drink tea when I'm sick, which is on rare occasions.

3. What is/are your favorite(s) Netflix show to binge-watch?
The first show I ever binge-watched and highly recommend is Prison Break! I watched that in less than a week. It was just so good. I won't spoil the ending for those that haven't watched it, but I think the writers ended it on a good note. Another show that I could binge-watch again is Orange Is The New Black. I remember finishing the first season in 2 days.

4. What is the craziest/wildest thing you have ever done?
I'm not much of a roller coaster person. Ask my cousins. When we were younger I was the bag lady and would watch everyone's stuff while they all went on the rollercoaster. But, one summer I just faced my fears and I was riding those rollercoasters with all the loops, twists and turns. The adrenaline rush became addicting.

5. If you had the opportunity to travel and vacation anywhere with all expenses paid, where would you go and who would you go with?
If I had the opportunity to travel and vacation anywhere all expenses paid, I would have to pick Australia and of course I would have to bring my family. Without them I don't know where I would be. We all definitely need some rest and relaxation and what better place than down under. I've always seen the pictures and it would be amazing if I could cross that off my bucket list.

6. If you got lucky enough to get your blog featured in a magazine, which would it be and why? If not a magazine, what about through social media by anyone? Who would it be?
Even though I'm close to 27, I would love to be featured in Seventeen magazine. That was my first magazine subscription and to be featured in a magazine that I grew up with would be such a dream come true. It's a timeless magazine that reaches billions of people and a feature in there would be so cool.

7. How far ahead in the future do you see yourself as a blogger?
That's another tough one. I would love to continue this in my 30s. It's such a great way to capture memories and look back at the pasts. I hope to posts more of my travel series and things I do with my cousins. It's also an amazing way to connect with other people. Only time will tell.

8. Name the top 3 songs you most listen to currently.
Fifth Harmony - Work from Home
Justin Bieber - Love Yourself
Tori Kelly - Should've Been Us

9. How did you come up with the name for your blog?
I vaguely remember how we came up with the name for our blog. It's been so long. I know my cousin's and I wanted to create a blog so we could have a platform where we could express whatever we wanted. But, since we wanted to talk about so many random things we didn't want it to be so specific. We wanted a name that would be very broad and since we wanted it to be a lifestyle blog one of my cousins suggested everydaylivingnyc since we all live in nyc everyday. LOL. I don't think we could of thought of anything else, and the name just stuck.

10. Do you see yourself more as someone who uses their left brain or right brain more? (Yes I know scientifically speaking we use both, but I'm saying in terms of rational or creative)
I'm more rational than creative. I'm def more analytical and think critically. Which I was more creative though.

11. Of all your blogposts, which one is your favorite, and why?
That's a tough one. But, I think it has to be on one of my earlier posts before we all went on hiatus. Even though it was so long ago, it still holds so much relevance to my life. Just reading it made me nostalgic. I made this post on my 25 birthday. It was a post on the 25 things I learned in 25 years. Check it out HERE

Hope you all enjoyed reading the posts.

IMATS Tips and Tricks

I cannot believe IMATS NYC is only days away. IMATS stands for International Makeup Artist Trade Show. You do not have to be a makeup artist or work in the industry to attend. This event is open to public and if you are a makeup junkie like us, this is the holy grail event for makeup lovers. During the event, thousands of make-up artists, exhibitors and enthusiasts discuss, display and collect the best the industry has to offer. Make-up pros from fashion and film (including Oscar, BAFTA and Saturn award winners) provide education and demonstrations at IMATS, and new products often debut there. IMATS also features a make-up museum and the Battle of the Brushes student make-up competitions, where international make-up students race to create winning looks. The event is held in NYC, LA, Vancouver, Toronto, Sydney and London.

Last year was our first experience and it was AMAZING. We got to meet so many youtube stars and scored so many good deals. You can score items that are 10-75% off. Below are our tips and tricks that will help you out if this will be your first time at IMATS or if you are looking to go next year.

1. Buy your tickets EARLY. Once tickets go on sale, buy them ASAP. It's a 3 day event, but the first day is only for PRO-Makeup Card Holders, meaning you need to have a license and or be in beauty school. Saturday and Sunday are open to the PUBLIC so, take your pick or you can go on both days. Tickets do sell out way in advance. So, if your set on going, buy it ASAP. Don't expect to get tickets at the door.

2.  Create your wish list. The website will have a list of vendors, so you can plan out what you really need and what you want to buy. That way when you get there you know exactly what you want and how much you're going to spend. Also include backups, because things can sell out quickly.

3. Call your credit card company or bank before you go to the show. Because there are so many vendors, they will be from all over the states. So, even though the show is in NYC, the vendors could be from California, Florida, etc and once your card is swiped your credit card will be alerted and your account may be frozen. This happened to me last year. I was not expecting that. But, one phone call took care of that and I was able to swipe my card again.

4. Bring CASH. Some vendors only take cash or offer a bigger discount when you pay all cash.

5. Take a Friend or 2. As they say, the more the merrier. You can all plan and attack and decide who will stay on what line and get what items, which will save so much time. Trust me, last year my cousins and I did this and we were done by 11 am. We divided and conquered! Plus you will always have someone that will be able to take your pics with your fave youtube stars.

6. Dress comfortably. You will be doing a lot of walking and standing. So, skip the stilettos and wear flats, wedges or sneakers. Trust me your feet will be thanking you at the end of the day. Comfort over style for this day is a must.

7. When to go? If you are like us, we like to go first thing in the morning. So, we arrived an hour and a half before it opened and there was already such a huge line in front of us. But, trust me it is worth the wait. When you walk in the door it turns into the Hunger Games : Makeup Edition. People will be running to their favorite vendors to make sure they get in line first. Because we went early the lines weren't so bad. You can also go towards the end of the day. People tend to leave towards the end of the afternoon and lines start to die down.

8. Check instagram and twitter for updates. Sometimes vendors have promos or are running contest. So, keep checking and you might be able to snag some free swag. You can also find out when your fave youtube stars are having their meet and greet. That way you will be able to snag that selfie with them.

9. Bring some makeup removers. You will be swatching non-stop. So, your hands are gonna look like a hot mess by the time its all over. Some vendors had some available but, its always nice when you have your own.

10.  Make sure to take some breaks and eat. The venue does provide some food, but it's overpriced and not worth it. So, bring some snacks. You can also leave the venue and re-enter as many times as you wish.

Hope you all enjoyed reading these tips! Have any of you gone to IMATS or are thinking about it? Please tell us your experience we would love to know. Below are some of our highlights from last year.

Wedding Fever : Cocomelody.com

Happy Monday everyone. Sorry we have been MIA. We have all been so busy. My cousins have midterms and I've been helping my friend plan her wedding. I'm one of her bridesmaid and the wedding is in May so the clock is ticking. We have been planning out the bachelorette party, sending out all the wedding invitations, making the party favors, etc. It's gonna be such a rollercoaster ride for the next two months trying to get everything ready.

If you are looking for wedding dresses or bridesmaids dress, one place to look is Cocomelody. They have a ton of selections and right now they have discounts for wedding dress orders over $300. They also have discounts for bridesmaid dress orders: If you purchase 2 pieces, you can get 5% off. If you purchase 3-4 pieces, you can get 10% off. If you purchase 5 or more pieces, you can get 15% off.

I was browsing through their website and they have so many backless wedding dresses to choose from. Price range from a few hundred to thousands. But, a girl can never spend too much on her wedding. One of my favorite backless gown is below.

Another backless wedding dress that I adore is below.
